Creepy, practical, and covered in dog hair is kind of our wheelhouse. This one started at Matt’s dining room table with a bag of locally-sourced (neighbor’s) pet hair and a hot glue gun. A few hairy prototypes later, we handed things off to the brilliant weirdos at MNFX, who brought these expressive little animatronic critters to life. Suckers for dark comedy and the charm of practical FX, we kept everything in-camera via fishing line, puppeteering, and practical reveals with DoP Marc Le Laliberté dialing in the suspense and monochrome.
